We are proud to share that seven VJS-built projects have been named finalists in the 2026 Milwaukee Business Journal Real Estate Awards. The annual program highlights developments that make a meaningful impact on the region through thoughtful design, collaboration, and long-term community value.
Winners will be announced at the Milwaukee Business Journal Real Estate Awards ceremony in April 2026. Being named a finalist is an honor that reflects the strong partnerships behind every project.
Below are the VJS projects recognized this year.
Evoni Apartments - New Complex
Evoni Apartments helped transform a previously underutilized site in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward into a vibrant residential destination. The development brings new housing opportunities to one of the city’s most active neighborhoods while contributing to the continued growth and energy of the surrounding district.
Racine Unified School District - Schulte Elementary School
Designed to support the future of education in Racine, the new Schulte Elementary School provides modern learning environments that encourage collaboration, creativity, and student engagement. The project represents a significant investment in educational spaces that serve both students and the broader community.
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee - Mary Ryan Sherman Park Exterior Improvements
Enhancements to the Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club at Sherman Park focused on improving outdoor spaces that support youth programs and community gatherings. The project creates a more welcoming environment where young people can learn, play, and connect in a safe and supportive setting.
Franklin Public Schools - Community Education & Recreation Center Addition
The Community Education & Recreation Center addition expands opportunities for wellness, recreation, and community programming in Franklin. Designed as a shared space for residents of all ages, the facility strengthens connections between the school district and the broader community it serves.
ProHealth Care - West Wood Renovations
The West Wood renovations for ProHealth Care focused on modernizing healthcare spaces to better support patient care and staff efficiency. Improvements like these play an important role in helping healthcare providers continue delivering high-quality care in a comfortable, functional environment.
Racine Unified School District - Jerstad-Agerholm School Renovation and Addition
Through thoughtful renovation and expansion, the Jerstad-Agerholm School project updated an existing facility while preparing it to support the evolving needs of students and educators. The improvements create a refreshed learning environment designed to serve the Racine community for years to come.
Urban Ecology Center - Washington Park Branch Renovation & Expansion
The renovation and expansion of the Urban Ecology Center’s Washington Park Branch strengthens its role as a hub for environmental education, outdoor exploration, and community programming. The expanded facility allows the organization to serve even more students, families, and visitors each year.
