Franklin Public Schools recently celebrated the grand opening of its new Community Education & Recreation Center (CERC), delivered in partnership with VJS Construction Services, Cadence Consulting, and Plunkett Raysich Architects (PRA).
The event also marked an exciting milestone for “Diverse Grounds,” the district’s 18–21 Transition Services program coffee shop, which now operates inside the new facility and serves Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. Students were honored with their own ribbon cutting as part of the celebration.
The CERC provides expanded space for community wellness and recreation, featuring three multiuse studio spaces for classes such as pickleball, yoga, Pilates, WERQ, Zumba, and Pound. The center also includes community gathering rooms, a refreshed all-inclusive playground, a walking path with outdoor exercise stations, and upgraded athletic fields to support future programming.
After the ceremony, guests toured the building and enjoyed refreshments prepared by the Diverse Grounds team. To welcome the community, Franklin residents are invited to participate in two weeks of free programming beginning December 8, 2025.
The new center enhances opportunities for youth, senior, and family activities—reducing waitlists, expanding offerings, and bringing new programming to the Franklin community.
