Capital Improvement Projects Spotlight

Older school buildings hold years of history. Keeping them modernized for the next generation takes thoughtful care and improvements to extend the life of essential building systems.
Recent work in the Wauwatosa and Port Washington-Saukville school districts highlights how these investments help schools serve next generations.
Wauwatosa: A Summer of Progress
With just 50 working days in the summer construction window, VJS coordinated improvements across multiple Wauwatosa elementary schools, including Roosevelt and Eisenhower. ADA accessibility and HVAC upgrades were important priorities in updating the district’s older buildings.
These two schools are part of the district’s larger referendum-funded capital improvement program. Additional work at Wauwatosa elementary schools will continue, with the overall program scheduled for completion in summer 2027.
