VJS partners with multiple primary and secondary schools to provide students with early career experiences and connect them with construction industry professionals. We recently hosted multiple hands-on workshops with schools like Oconomowoc High School, St. Aug Prep, and others giving students an ability to visualize themselves in the construction field. This exposure helps students identify career opportunities they may not have otherwise considered.
These school partnerships start the process in helping to build a pipeline of talent. When a student goes to seek career advice from his or her counselor, the counselor can refer them to VJS as an option.
TECH IT OUT NIGHT
Oconomowoc High School
VJS participated in Oconomowoc's High School "Tech It Out" event. The VJS team led students through a 'how to build a crate' hands-on demonstration. Students were able to take the crates home with them once completed.
ICAN PRESENTATION
Augustine Prep
VJS hosted an ICAN presentation and site visit for elementary and middle school students at Augustine Prep. The ICAN program is focused on exposing students to different career paths available to them in an effort to inspire a successful future.
