The 43,000 square-foot performing arts and education center includes a 619-seat state-of-the-art auditorium, music studios, dance and performance rehearsal rooms, a visual arts gallery, dressing rooms, a green room, and a scene shop. The facility provides a new performance venue for the Elmbrook School District and regional and national touring organizations.
The Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts represents what can happen when public and private interests merge for the betterment of the community. Gary Jorgensen and VJS were instrumental in developing and constructing the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield. The project took nine (9) years of planning and fundraising. Gary Jorgensen spearheaded fundraising efforts, along with his team at VJS, the city of Brookfield, the Elmbrook School District, and the private sector, to raise the necessary funds for construction.
"For me, I’m a native of this town and anything you want done well you have to go to the very best people in the business and the people at VJS care for our city. They care for the entire city. When they do a project, they do it well they go beyond anyone’s expectations. To make sure that not only their dreams come true, but that the right things are done."
