PROJECT SCOPE
Aero-Flite Inc. operates three types of firefighting planes to fight wildfires: a water-scooping aircraft, a land-based air tanker, and another air tanker. VJS worked with the architect to provide the client with two options: expand its hangar or relocate within the airport to create space for its growing fleet.
After careful evaluation, it was determined that building a new hangar would allow Aero-Flite to expand its capacity and save the crew significant time as they would no longer need to move and stack airplanes for maintenance.
The new hangar will be about 70,000 square feet, spanning two floors. The first floor includes a 45,000-square-foot hangar, shipping/receiving, operations, maintenance, lobby, and shop space. The second floor consists of a lunch/break room and administrative space.
