COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
At VJS Construction Services, we believe the most successful projects are those that leave a lasting, positive impact beyond the jobsite.
That’s why we actively engage with the people, neighborhoods, and institutions connected to the facilities we build. We see every project as an opportunity to foster meaningful connections and open doors for future generations.
From hosting student site tours and offering hands-on apprenticeships to collaborating with school districts and local organizations on workforce development, VJS integrates community engagement directly into our construction process.

As part of the Washington Park expansion, VJS partnered with the Urban Ecology Center to host a Signing Day and launch paid internships for local high school students. Interns gained exposure to multiple trades and experienced a welcoming, professional jobsite environment.

Racine Unified School District

Through our partnership with RUSD, VJS welcomed students into hands-on youth apprenticeship programs directly tied to active school construction sites. One standout story is Israel Hernandez, who began as a student apprentice and grew into a skilled tradesman while helping to build his own community’s schools.
