VJS Community

The VJS Construction Services Community Foundation was established as a way to lead our philanthropic efforts and build on the legacy of giving back to the communities we serve. The Foundation aids in encouraging participation in giving back through events and fundraisers, contributions to annual giving campaigns, and benefits several of our nonprofit partners through our annual golf outing.

VJS Community 1As a company, VJS Construction Services is committed to supporting the needs and concerns of the communities where we are privileged to do business. The Jorgensen Family’s philanthropic work and enthusiasm for community involvement has made a difference in the lives of many people. This passion for strengthening the communities where we live and work radiates throughout the VJS organization and employees have spent countless hours dedicating their time, energy, funds and leadership to community organizations.

The Jorgensen’s active philanthropic endeavors and the journey of helping countless non-profit organizations led to the establishment of the VJS Construction Services Community Foundation in 2018.

“VJS believes it is our responsibility to make the community a better place,” said Craig Jorgensen, VJS President. “Through the VJS Construction Services Community Foundation, VJS is able to further its dedication to improving our communities by raising awareness of non-profit organizations throughout southeastern Wisconsin.”

Our community involvement activities focus on strengthening our connections within our communities. Whether it be through yearly fundraising efforts or through food drives, book drives or toy drives, VJS and its employees are proud of the support we have provided to help people, organizations, and projects.

In 2017, VJS held its first annual VJS Construction Services Community Foundation Golf Outing. The golf outing provides an opportunity for VJS to shine its spotlight on various non-profit organizations and demonstrates the deep compassion VJS has for community organizations within our local area. Through the generosity and kindness of sponsors, volunteers, and subcontractors, we are able to make a difference for the organizations we support at each golf outing.

Thomas S. Schueler Scholarship

Thomas S. Schueler, President Emeritus and Senior Consultant for VJS Construction Services, passed away May 20, 2007.

As the “S” in VJS – there are no words to adequately describe Tom’s major contributions to the success of Voss Jorgensen Schueler over the past years and his impact within the construction industry. We were all stunned and saddened by Tom’s passing and he will be sorely missed.

Thomas S. Schueler Scholarship Fund

Founded in 1947, VJS has grown to become one of the region’s leading contractors. Mr. Schueler played an important role in the firm’s dynamic growth.

The Thomas S. Schueler Scholarship Fund was established in 2007 by VJS Construction Services to honor the legacy of Thomas S. Schueler, one of the company’s founders, who passed away unexpectedly in May of 2007.

The Thomas S. Schueler Scholarship Fund was created as a way to honor Tom Schueler’s legacy for the employees of VJS Construction Services. He believed each and every employee played an important role in the success of the company. Tom was a very generous and giving man. He treated everyone with the utmost respect and cared about the health and safety of VJS employees and their families.

Tom also held strong beliefs about the importance of education. He knew that not everyone had the same resources to afford a post secondary education and believed everyone should be given a chance.

This scholarship fund honors his legacy for the things he held dear — education and the employees of VJS.
