PROJECT DETAILS
- Cost: Confidential
- Demolition of existing rolling door system, existing precast and metal fascia
- Replaced with two (2) new 110′ Megadoor (fabric) systems
EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS
Because of space constraints and other tenants’ concerns, hangar was retrofitted with vertical lift Megadoors. To support these motorized, vertical lift doors, the architect designed a creative retrofit of the roof framing to support the weight of the new doors. Installation of these doors also required removal and replacement of the fascia and support framing and new insulation systems above the doors. As these new doors did not require floor rails, the existing floor rail system was removed and new concrete was placed below the doors. These new doors also required heavy involvement of our electrical engineers to coordinate power and control systems for the operation of the new doors.
