EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS

The storm sewer line was several hundred feet from the structure. We proposed constructing rain gardens for storm runoff and eliminating the need for new storm sewer lines. This saved over $100,000. In addition the solution was very popular with the City of New Berlin and has been used by the school as part of the environmental education.

New Berlin West High School was built on a site with extreme wetlands, navigable streams, and endangered species limitations. VJS met regularly with the DNR and the City of New Berlin to establish timeframes, design concepts, and implementation. Construction occurred during the most difficult time of the year and required VJS to work with all governing authorities to establish strategies that would not compromise any environmentally sensitive issues.
