Building Components: Bishop’s Creek housing project located on 32nd and Hampton Avenue in Milwaukee is in a neighborhood that has received major grants from both the city of Milwaukee and the state of Wisconsin to revitalize it pulse. This seven acre site previously housed an old foundry and requires major remediation to come back to life. This housing project will be the anchor building for the revitalization of this development and consists of 55 unit supportive family housing. The three story two and three bedroom apartment building will boast a modern presence on the site and with the use of creative materials will be positive change for the area. To revitalize 32nd street the design has incorporated 13 walk up units with front porches, street entrances and highly landscaped urban edges. This will promote an eye on the street and will encourage pedestrian activity which is an essential element in revitalizing the neighborhood. This is a WHEDA funded project.
