Building Components: HUD and WHEDA funded project. The Milwaukee Housing Authority and the United Community Center entered into a joint venture to build environmentally-sustainable and affordable living options for Milwaukee's seniors. The complex provides 37 high quality, affordable apartments in an active, bilingual and culturally enriched environment. The new, three-story housing complex has one and two bedroom units, along with a community room, media room, residential kitchen, examining and counseling rooms. Olga Apartmetns is one of Wisconsin's most environmentally-sustainable housing complexes that has incorporated several "green" features such as: 30 geothermal wells for heating and cooling, over 10,000 square feet of live green roof, sustainable materials, advanced storm water management and native plan landscaping.
